Retinol Is Your Friend

Retinol is a fat soluble vitamin useful for bone growth and vision. For all intents and purposes, it’s the animal form of Vitamin A. Retinoic acid is used to treat acne and an oral form of it is ingested in a very well known medicine called Accutane.
Vitamin A can also be used to fight aging! It is absorbed through the skin and increases the rate of skin turnover by helping with the production of collagen. The more collagen you have, the more youthful your skin looks.
This useful vitamin is found in a number of foods. All sources of vitamin A can provide retinol, but it’s found naturally in foods which originated from animals. If you need more Vitamin A in your diet, your best bets are cod liver oil, butter and margarine, eggs, liver, cheese, and milk.
The University of Michigan conducted research on retinol. The efficacy of Retinol is because of skin receptors for retinoic acid. The outer membrane of cells contains these receptors. Retinoic acid was found to aid in the reproduction of cells. They found that retinol is great for acne and anti-aging treatments, but that it’s also super useful in combatting damage inflicted by the sun’s harmful rays.
